Supermicro to Launch World’s Highest Density 8-way SuperServer

Supermicro will soon release the world’s highest density 8-way server in line with Intel’s release of the E7-8800 v3/v4 family of CPU’s, supporting a huge 24TB of RAM and 192 cores in a 7U enclosure. As well as a a massive increase in memory capacity, the E7-8800 v4 family features a number of improvements which contribute to a 1.3x performance boost from the previous v3 generation. Ideal for in-memory database applications, virtualisation and business intelligence, the 7088B-TR4FT will be releasing imminently.

Supermicro will also release a new Super I/O module (SIOM) which Supermicro will integrate into this system and the newest 2U TwinPro Servers. The SIOM modules will fit into a proprietary slot, leaving PCI-e slots available for additional add-on cards.
