Are most data centers efficient?

The answer is no, according to research commissioned by Supermicro. They found that larger organisations were not doing well in managing business energy needs from their computer hardware with "only 28% of respondents considered environmental issues in selection of data center technology", which results in poor technical performance and a waste of money.

Supermicro, known for supporting green computing initiatives, recently introduced dis-aggregated blade systems late last year so users can easily update components, such as processors, memory and power supplies without replacing entire cabinets, and plan to continue this trend to their traditional servers in 2019 to help users be more efficient through cost savings and contribues to a lower PUE.
