New Supermicro Servers Deliver Performance Improvements

03 September 2019

Supermicro Computer showcased its newest systems at VMWorld 2019 last week, extending its vSAN system portfolio and introducing a new enterprise-class vSAN solution — Ultra SuperServer — to its already large portfolio of fully configured, ready to deploy server systems. The systems, coupled with industry-proven vSAN, aim to provide turn-key solutions for the hyper-converged infrastructure marketplace. The highly configurable Ultra SuperServer and the BigTwin™ server turn-key systems, along with Supermicro’s full line of vSAN ready nodes, accelerate the software-defined transition; optimise data centre infrastructure, and fast-track selecting and deploying data centre hardware and software.

The Ultra SuperServer platforms support a large number of NVMe drives and ample PCI-E lanes to accommodate network interface cards (NICs) that provide sufficient bandwidth for external access over fabrics. The BigTwin with 2nd Gen Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors features a flexible, resource-saving Supermicro’s own I/O networking module (SIOM) and supports All-Flash NVMe.  Configured with Intel® Optane™ DC SSDs and NVMe as caching for high-performance SDS, resulting in storage performance acceleration by up to 3x. There is improved endurance of up to 30 drive writes per day (DWPD), to extend the lifecycle of deployments.

The full Supermicro range is available at TMC Technology now, speak to one of our experienced sales team now for pricing and lead times.
